Empowering Women Directors in the Film Industry
The WAGE (Women and Gender Equity) Project is a transformative initiative designed to challenge barriers and stereotypes that limit opportunities for women directors. Through advocacy, research, and targeted outreach, we aim to create systemic change that fosters inclusivity and equity in the film industry.

About the WAGE Project

Our Vision:

A thriving film industry where women directors are empowered to lead with creativity and equality, reshaping narratives and breaking barriers for generations to come

Key Objectives:

  • Engage with women directors and allies to address systemic barriers.
  • Conduct research to identify and understand challenges faced by women directors.
  • Develop advocacy materials and strategies to drive industry-wide change.
  • Engage stakeholders to implement intentional actions, programs, and policies to empower women directors.

What We Do

Research and Data Collection:

Our focus groups, surveys, and interviews with women directors and industry stakeholders provide critical insights into the barriers and opportunities within the film industry.

Advocacy and Awareness:

We amplify the voices of women directors through public service announcements, video campaigns, and outreach efforts that challenge industry norms and promote gender equity

Workshops and Engagement:

Interactive workshops and consultations empower stakeholders, including industry leaders and policymakers, to take actionable steps toward systemic change.

Resource Development:

We create accessible toolkits, digital platforms, and advocacy materials to support ongoing efforts to champion women directors.
